Signal Conditioning Equipment
We can supply a wide a range of signal conditioning equipment. Conditioning equipment is an interface that makes the signal readable and recordable by completing the Wheatstone bridge. The bridge is then energised and the signal is amplified before calibration is applied, in order to facto and record the output in engineering units of measurement.
As a passive device, a strain gauge requires signal conditioning to energise the sensor and amplify the low-level signal. In terms of stress analysis, for example, a quarter Wheatstone bridge is required (by comparison, transducers require full bridges). In order to complete the Wheatstone bridge, the instrumentation takes a quarter bridge input, adds in stable resistors to complete the bridge. In this way, low-level signals are amplified and presented in engineering units not simply milivolts.
Analysing Equipment Malfunction
Working in the field in a variety of locations, we specialise in using sensors in order to trace, identify and analyse the reasons for equipment failure, malfunction or inefficiency. We install and monitor sensors to obtain real-time measurements during equipment operation and, utilising appropriate sensors placed in the right locations, we can successfully identify a range of factors such as thermal stress, fatigue failure, vibration, dynamic stresses, insufficient cross-sections, and misalignment – any of which can cause malfunction or failure if not identified and dealt with in the appropriate manner.
